The last-minute crunch

I’m afraid I couldn’t get the other parts of my Carnival of Aces submission up in time. It’s just one more minute before midnight in my timezone, and I hope they can still be included. I’ve spent a lot of time working on them, but have also been so busy with full-time work, and trying to juggle other projects at the same time. So much to say, so little time. These have been some of the most challenging posts I have written.

I’m late writing my own submission too. I am going to sleep now, will wake up and write it. I’ve been planning to do it for weeks but I kept forgetting and the end of the month snuck up on me. February is a shorter month than most, haha. I plan to turn it in within 12 hours at the latest. πŸ˜› It happens to the best of us, sometimes.

I look forward to the rest of your writings for this Carnival topic.

Thanks, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing your submission! Yeah, it was so easy for deadlines to creep up, because it was the shortest month. Near the end, I was thinking “Oh, only if there were a few more days in this month!”

I’m still nervous getting the other parts of my submission up, because they’re for all intents and purposes a follow-up to my Asexual Agenda interview from last year. Writing that was so hard, but I’m glad I did, even though I still fear that no one can relate to my experiences, and that’s why I feel so isolated. There’s a lot I want to say, but my isolation, and concern over conflict of interest issues, often hold me back.

I’m later than I hoped to be, still trying to write my own post now. πŸ˜‰

I understand why that’d make your nervous, but I really don’t think you need to worry. I think even those of us who can’t relate need to be told that there are different experiences out there than our own, so that we can be more inclusive of everyone who’s in our ace community. And most of us really appreciate reading these different perspectives and learning about what you went through/what you currently think about all of it. Plus, you’re great at expressing yourself in writing. πŸ˜‰ Besides, there are almost always *some* people who do relate to you, more than you might realize.

Hey Aqua, I’d be happy to add your post whenever you end up writing it. Even if it ends up being like, weeks late, it’s no big deal for me to just add it to the round up post. I use carnival round-up posts often when I want to show people different perspectives on a specific topic, so even if your post is late, it’ll be very helpful and important later on! πŸ™‚

Thanks! I just happened to get the second part up now, and have two more to go. Were others struggling with the same last-minute crunch, since February is the shortest month?

When I participate, I get started almost as soon as I see the announcement, but my currently schedule often makes working on anything only possible before I go to work (which is full-time, and has no outside internet access), because I know that after I get home from work, I may be too mentally drained to write anything. I just had so much to write this month, but so little time to.
